Mimi Clifton
Mimi
has been teaching canoe for 10 years and kayak for 7 years.
Her approach to instruction is fun, non-threatening, and motivational,
with an emphasis on the acquisition of safe, sound skills.
She is certified through the American Canoe Association as
an Open Water Coastal Kayak, Traditional Kayak and Flatwater
Canoe instructor for both tandem and solo. She completed a
30-day Ocean Kayak Educator Course in British Columbia through
the National Outdoor Leadership School and holds a 3 Star
award with the British Canoe Union. Mimi has also completed
4 Star BCU training. When traveling in the wilderness, she
practices and promotes Leave No Trace skills and ethics. Her
favorite local paddling destinations are the barrier islands
off the coast of Mississippi (Horn, Cat and Ship Islands).

Larry
Koenig
Larry Koenig is a certified American Canoe Association (ACA)
Open Water Coastal Kayak instructor and a British Canoe Union
(BCU) Coach 2. He has completed his BCU 5 star (advanced rough
water) training in Anglesey, Wales under the tutelage of world-class
paddler and designer Nigel Dennis. His most recent accomplishment
is the circumnavigation of the Gulf of Mexico - a sojourn
of 7 months and 3,500 miles. Larry also enjoys canoeing and
whitewater kayaking when he can get the time. Larry’s
style is relaxed, fun and guiding.
