LEVEL 1 (8 hours): The Level 1 course is designed
to provide beginners with a safe and fun introduction to the sport
of coastal kayaking. You will have fun learning about personal safety
equipment, kayak design, paddles, basic strokes and maneuvers, rescues,
the wet exit, carrying your boat safely, plus a whole lot more.

LEVEL 2 (8 hours): The Level 2 will help the
intermediate coastal kayaker to perfect their advanced strokes and
maneuvers. After you have learned the basics, this is where you
get to be technical on the water. Boat handling and control are
the focus of this extra fun class and you will begin working on
a roll. You must complete Level 1 prior to taking the Level 2 course.

LEVEL 3 (8 hours): Now that you've advanced your skills,
the Level 3 course will take you out onto the open water
where you will use your advanced strokes and maneuvers. Basic navigation
and chart reading will be used to journey to a secret destination.
Open water rescues will be performed. Waves will not be larger than
2 feet and wind speed will not be greater than 15 knots. You must
complete Level 2 prior to taking the Level 3 course.

August 11- Kayak Camping 101 – This class
will teach you how to pack your kayak for an overnight trip. We’ll
go over what to bring and how to pack it. If your desire is to go
on an extended trip with your boat, you’ll want everything
you need to enjoy your stay in the wilderness. This is a 4-hour

PRIVATE & SEMI-PRIVATE INSTRUCTION:
Private (1-on-1) and semi-private (2-3 people) are available upon
request. If you wish to work on your roll, bracing, sculling, strokes,
rescues, whatever kayaking skills you desire, were available
to accommodate you. Please call or email to set up a convenient
date and time.
COURSE FEES:
8-hour class – group $125; semi-private (2-3 people) $145;
private $165
4-hour class – group $75; semi-private $95; private $110
The course fee includes instruction, insurance, snacks and ACA
materials. The course fee DOES NOT include rental
fee for boat and equipment. If you need to rent a boat and equipment,
please add $25 to the course fee. Payment is due upon registration.
DISCOUNTS -- if you take two or more courses in the same
calendar year, you receive a 10% discount off your course fee. Private
and semi-private multi-day courses receive a 10% discount. Rental
fees are not discounted. If you purchase a kayak from SouthCoast
Kayaks you will receive a complimentary 8-hour class.
REFUND POLICY you will receive a full refund if
you notify SouthCoast Kayaks 4 days prior to the scheduled course.
You will receive 50% of your course/rental fee if you cancel 3 days
prior the to the scheduled course. If you need to cancel your course,
your course/rental fee is transferable to another scheduled course.
